CHANGES AFTER THE FIRST PRINTING

TRAITS

* Psychic, Psychoportation, Skipping: fix range typo, changing it to the normalized "(1/2[CL] ×5, +25 ft.)".

* Psychic, Psychoportation, Skating: Added text "(1/2[CL] ×5, +25 ft.)" to the end of "Close range".

* Monster, Mastered Power, Possession: Normalized Close range text to the standard "(1/2[CL] ×5, +25 ft.)".

 

SKILLS

* Table 4-3: The listing for every 5 ranks is a typo, and should be +2 per 5 ranks, not +1.

* Table 4-3, Every 4 Ranks, Kn (military&tactics): Replace "see Chapter 9" with "see page 190".

* Knowledge, Military & Tactics: Replace "see Chapter 9" with "see page 190".

* Survival, Camping: Rework so that you get 1 Comfort level on a successful skill check, plus another if you have a camp fire, as separate stacking bonuses.

* Combat, Dueling: Fixed missing-word typo, changing "can a regular Bull Rush" to "can use a regular Bull Rush".

* General, Endurance: Rework to state that it reduces the Comfort penalty by 1, and adds +1 to maximum Comfort level, for sleeping in armor (see page 190).

* Meta, Pessulus: Put in the missing typo between " ×5" and "+50 ft.".

* Armor, Classical: Add "Armor & Comfort" sidebar by the table, that says you have a Comfort penalty when camping, and a maximum Comfort level, based on how hard your armor is to wear: Light (-1 Comfort, max 3), Medium (-2 Comfort, max 2), and Heavy (-3 Comfort, max 1).

* Gear, Classical, Bedroll: Capitalize "comfort". 

* Gear, Classical, Campfire Gear: Capitalize "comfort". 

* Gear, Classical, Tent: Capitalize "comfort".

 

ADVENTURING CHARACTERS

* Encumbrance & Travel, Camping, Comfort: Expand Comfort levels to: 0 Total: fatigued until next rest; 1 Total: DC 20 Fortitude save or fatigued until next rest; 2 Total: DC 15 Fortitude or fatigued until mid-day; 3 Total: No penalties; 4 Total: Also gains +(ETB) circumstance bonus to last rest's healing checks (see page 197).

 

SPELLCASTING

* Mage's Magnificent Mansion: Provides 4 Comfort, not 3.

* Tiny Hut: Capitalize "comfort".

* Rope Trick: Provides Comfort 1, but cannot gain Comfort from a camp fire or Survival skill check.

 

WALKING FEARS

* Succubi: Specified in their template that their Flight is winged.

RULES OF HORROR

* Concepts, Statistics, Constitution: Replaced the legacy text "Living creatures die if this hits 0 at the same time as Strength, otherwise they are just staggered" with the correct "Living creatures fall unconscious if at 0 and another is damaged, otherwise just staggered".

* Concepts, Statistics, Constitution: Replaced the legacy text "Living creatures die if this hits 0 at the same time as Constitution, otherwise they are paralyzed" with the corrected "Living creatures are dying if they have any damage to this while at Constitution 0 from damage, or paralyzed otherwise" .  Replaced the extraneous text "Every +2 Strength modifier above 11 increases the Range Increment of thrown weapons by +5 ft." to the clearer "Increase thrown weapon Range Increments by +5 ft. for every 2 Strength above 11".

 

RACES

* Advantages, Breaking the Limits, Primary Spellcasting Trait: To clarify it, completely rewrote it to say "You add +([casting ability score]  –[spell’s SL] –10) to the spell’s statistics.  Firstly to random die effects (only to the total if rolling multiple dice), or to non-random effects if it has no random ones.  If it has neither, then add it to save DCs, or to CL if it has no saves.  Also add it to any “maximum” and “up to” limits, as well as to all d20 checks resulting from use of the spell (like Heal checks for cure spells).".

* Aasimar, Favored Trait: Changed "Holy Warrior or Spiritualism (or Outsider)" to "Holy Warrior (no prerequisites needed), Outsider, Spiritualism" for clarity.

* Aasimar: Changed "Holy Warrior, Spiritualism, or Outsider (see page 633)" to "Holy Warrior, Outsider (see page 633), or Spiritualism" for clarity.

* Gnome, Size Category: Changed "checks, but you use smaller weapons than Medium-size users, and your Encumbrance limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium-size character" to "checks.  Compared to Medium-sized characters your Encumbrance is 3/4th normal, armor and clothes weigh 1/2(Lbs.), and personal gear like Bedrolls are 1/2(Lbs.) and 1/2(Price).  This is all due to less material, and finer tailoring" to make the information easier to find.

* Halfling, Size Category: Changed "checks, but you use smaller weapons than Medium-size users, and your Encumbrance limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium-size character" to "checks.  Compared to Medium-sized characters your Encumbrance is 3/4th normal, armor and clothes weigh 1/2(Lbs.), and personal gear like Bedrolls are 1/2(Lbs.) and 1/2(Price).  This is all due to less material, and finer tailoring" to make the information easier to find.

* Monster, Aged Master: Added the line "You gain the ability to reduce damage you take from Allergies, and Healing effects, by –1/2(#Aged Master), to a minimum of 1 damage (after increases from Vulnerability, if any)."

* Monster, Mastered Power: Removed the extraneous text "You gain the ability to reduce damage you take from Allergies, Healing effects, and special racial vulnerability by –1/2(#Master Power), minimum 1 damage" since it is now referenced under Aged Master.

* Monster, Mastered Power, Shadow Control: The 2nd-level spell should be "darkness", not "deeper darkness".  Changed the skill bonus from "a" to "another", for clarity.  Changed " Reapers, Nightmares, and Shadows, " to " Reapers, Nightmares, and Wraiths;".

* Monster, Racial Power: Changed the old phrasing "such as Tiefling darkness" to the accurate "such as the Tiefling's Damnation ability".  Did the same for "or one of your casting ability scores –10 " to "or the relevant (casting ability score) –10".  Removed the now unneeded text "(and cannot be used by a given Racial casting ability if your casting ability score –10 in it is below the SL)".

 

SKILLS

* Spellcraft, Shape Spell Effect: Changed to clarify that it doesn't affect NUMERICAL effects, and swapped the line about identification for one about a pain penalty equal to the SL.  Lowered the base DCs by 5, but also added +(SL) to the DCs.

 

FEATS

* General, Half-Breed, Tiefling: Fixed "Hardy Blood" typo, changed to just "Hardy".  Noted that only retains Infernal Blood if they are a Vampire or Revenant.  Removed the extraneous "1d6" from the Vulnerability listing, since that is for Allergies.

* General, Preternatural Insight: Clarified by changing " mental ability scores" to " mental ability score modifiers ".

 

ADVENTURING CHARACTERS

* Table 6-1: Changed the notation for Undead years-after-death to be 1d12 +(#Aged Master).

* Decrepitude: change random penalty to ALWAYS be -1 Str, and a roll to see if there is another -1 penalty "1d12: 1 Charisma, 2 Wisdom, 3 Intelligence, 4 Dexterity, 5 Constitution, 6 Strength, 7‐12 no other penalty"

 

EQUIPMENT

* Armor: Added description for Size Category "Creatures below or above Medium-size require specially-tailored armor and shields.  Each category below Medium reduces weight to ×1/2(Lbs.) but doesn’t change Price due to needing more time on finer tailoring, and each below Small also reduces AC bonus by 1.  Each category above Medium increases weight to 2(Lbs.), Price by +100%, and each above Large also increases AC bonus by 1." to collate and explain the changes.

* Armor, Earlier Eras: removed these entries since they are extraneous with Table 7-1, and to make room for the Size Category addition to the section.

* Weapons, Renaissance, Blunderbuss: Changed " CE, it can be loaded with a stack of pea-sized balls called a “CE, it can be loaded with a stack of pea-sized balls called a “Shot Bag” (costs 1gp), that then allows it to fire as a Cone Breath Weapon, using the Attack roll result as the Reflex save DC, out to 15 ft." to " CE.  Can instead be loaded with a stack of pea-sized balls called a Shot Bag (1gp each, 2 Lbs. for 10), that then allows it to fire as a 15 ft. Cone Breath Weapon, using the Attack roll result as the Reflex save DC " for clarity.

* Adventuring Gear: Added the "Size" section that states "Personal gear like Bedrolls are 1/2(Lbs.), while non-Outfits are also 1/2(Price), for Small-size characters".

* Adventuring Gear, Enlightenment, Rubic Sigil: Replace "your Caster Level of HD" with the corrected "(Caster Level) or (HD)".  For the Psychic Medium entry also replaced "you have Psychic Medium equal to the CR" with "your (#Psychic Medium) at least equals its (CR)".

 

COMBAT AND CONDITIONS

* Damage Classifications, Penalty, Subdual: Changed "is subdual damage" to the correct "is subdual penalty", and added the missing line "Subdual penalty to an ability score at 0 from a subdual penalty, converts equal subdual penalty to damage."

* Conditions, Injuries, Dead: Replaced the legacy text "Your Constitution and Strength are reduced to 0" with the corrected "Two ability scores are reduced to 0 by damage and/or drain".

 

SPELLCASTING

* Domains, Law, Granted Power: Specified that using the "Primal Order" power is a free action.

* Domains, Smithing, Granted Power: Fixed typo replacing "with those Craft skills" with "with your own Craft skills".

* Domains, Strength, Granted Power: Specified using this ability is a free action, and changed it so that the MINUTES need not be consecutive ("rounds" was a copy/pasta typo).

* Cure Minor Wounds: Added the line "Healed damage results in old-looking scarring."

* Detect Scrying: Fixed typo replacing "Scrier" with the correct "Scryer".

* Mending: Removed the extraneous "and Heal" text.  Added the entry "(more with a Craft check)" after "only 1 damage", allowing the spell to affect heavily-damaged objects on a successful skill check.

* Partial Restoration: Added the line "Causes bruising, but leaves no scars."

* Restoration, Lesser: Changed "cure 1 point" to "remove 1 point".  Also changed "subject's ability scores" to "subject's ability scores (no scarring)".

 

ENCHANTED ITEMS

* Wondrous, Brooch of Shielding: Change DC to "14 + (SL)" to reflect the existence of more sources than JUST magic missile!

* Making Enchanted Items, Artifacts, Mjolnir: Changed all entries of "Lawful Good" to the correct "Chaotic Good".

* Making Enchanted Items, Artifacts, Gungnir: Changed description to the more lore-accurate "This rune-covered +4 adamantine shortspear of returning is actually made from the bone of a True Giant, and looks to be dark wood as a result.  has 3 charges each day that can be used to cast any of command, hold animal, or hold monster as a free action once per round with a save DCs of 14 +(SL).  It can also be used to cast time stop, but this gives you a negative level for 24 hours that requires a DC 19 +1/2(CL) save to resist, once time resumes.  CL for each is equal to the wielder's HD.".

* Making Enchanted Items, Artifacts, Gungnir, Requirements: Changed description to the more lore-accurate "Made from the bone of a True Giant, and crafted under the northern lights in the middle of winter and height of summer by a men from other worlds, Craft Armaments, Craft Rod, command, hold animal, hold person; 84,500gp materials, CL 18+, XP 3,380."

 

WALKING FEARS

* Lich (template), Prerequisites: added "or Inhuman feat;" to end the race-only list.

* Vampire (template), Prerequisite: added "or Inhuman feat" after "Humanoid-only".

* Nightmares, Fleshed, Steal Skin: Changed the name to the actual "Steal Flesh" that is referenced everywhere else in the book...total brainfart typo.

 

APPENDIX A

* Special Abilities, Allergy: Put in the line "Reduced by -1/2(#Aged Master), to minimum 1".
